With about 8 kilometers the beach of Noordhoek is the longest of the entire Cape Peninsula. The fine, white sand and the wonderful scenery of the mountains, dunes and wetlands shut it to the ideal place for long walks and horse rides. The spectacular beach begins with a rocky section 'The Hoek' at the southern spur of the world-famous Chapman`s Peak (593 m) . The Hoek is a well-known surfing-spot. But not only surfboarders are magically absorbed by this beachsection. Here are also the best occasions to observe whales, dolphins and seals next to the surfboarders. |

There are temporary lagoons which are filled with water dependently on the surf and the moon cycle. After more than 3 kilometers lies the wreck of the SS Kakapa, a 1000-ton-ship that stranded in the night of the 25th May 1900 here and was already used as a film scenery. |
