The Cape Peninsula provides uncountable opportunities for boating, sailing, fishing and yachting. Scenic cruises and harbour trips depart from the V&A Waterfront, from Simon's Town and from Hout Bay. Especially the summer sunset cruises around the coastline from Clifton and Camp's Bay and the trips around Cape Point are very popular. Fishing from the beach is very common and deep sea fishing from the boat a special highlight. The fishing grounds are very productive, because of the two Oceants that meet and create an ideal environment for marine life. In False Bay you'll find kabeljou of up to 25 kg, cape salmon of up to 12 kg, white and red stumpnose, roman, and evensharks. At the Atlantic Coast you'll catch for example roman, silverfish and hake. |
