Stellenbosch, situated in the Jonkerhock River Valley, is the second-oldest city of South Africa. It was founded in 1679 from Simon van der Stel as a border town. In the center, especially in Dorp Street, you'll enjoy about sixty buildings in the Cape-Dutch-, but also in the Victorian-style style. Also the Dorpmuseum, a complex of buildings with houses from different eras, is worth a visit. |
